Selena Banks, sixteen, is the leader of Sheridan, Wyoming, after the supernova. However, this did not happen immediately after the supernova explosion occurred. After her parents died, she was left to take care of her brother, Jordan Banks, in Gillette, Wyoming. The city was a mess, and those who lived were killing each other to get food, so she and Jordan escaped. They traveled to Sheridan, which was in a similar shape but was led by an older man named Tom, who took Selena under his wing. When Tom died, Selena took over as the leader and helped unite the city, with Jordan assisting her as much as he could. However, he got tired of this and decided to go out on his own. Jordan was murdered by Dr. Reed only a few days later, and the news was brought back to Selena, who was devastated. Still, she continued to run the city, biding her time for revenge. Selena is very confident, extroverted, and a good leader who knows exactly what needs to be done for her people.
